Dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Imants Kalniņš

One for all. All for one.

There are stories that don't belong to one epoch. There are heroes who return from time to time to remind us of courage, friendship, honour, and love.

"The Three Musketeers" is a story about youth, ideals, and choice. It's about people who, at different times, seek the answer to the same question: what does it mean to be true to ourselves and our loved ones in a world where everything is constantly changing?

This work also has a special place in the history of Latvian theatre because the legendary production of "The Three Musketeers" was created at the Liepaja Theater in the late 1960s, with music by Imants Kalniņš and lyrics by Viktors Kalniņš. That show became a symbol of freedom, romanticism, and youth for an entire generation—and it lives on in Latvia's cultural memory to this day.

In 2026, the year of Imants Kalniņš's 85th birthday, we return to this work to rediscover this music.

"The Three Musketeers" of ours is not a museum. It is a living dialogue with the present day.

Who are the Musketeers nowadays?

Is friendship possible in a time when everything is becoming individual?

Is it possible to maintain trust in a time when it is so easy to switch sides?

Does love remain the force that can change the world?

This production brings together the past and the future, romanticism and irony, youth and experience.

And most importantly, we hear the music of Imants Kalniņš, еру music that has been uniting generations for over half a century.

One for all. All for one.

This oath still lives on.
