Uldis Markhilevichs

Uldis Markhilevichs was born in Pavilosta. Studied at the Daugavpils Pedagogical Institute.

A well-known and beloved composer and keyboardist in Latvia, who gained popularity in the 1980s. He played in several bands, including "Liepājas brāļi", "Inversija", "Opus" and "Remix". He has released three studio albums: "Marhils un draugi", "Tikai tā", "Gaismas atgriešanās".

Collaborated with singers Mirdza Zivere, Olga Rajecka, Igo, Ainars Mielavas, Alex, the "Cosmos" group and others. His song "Lūgums", performed by Mirdza Zivere, won the 1984 Mikrofons poll.

On November 18, 2017, he was awarded the Order of Three Stars, IV degree.
